Or maybe I was just counteracting my usual abusive inner monologue. It's hard to find balance.
You wanted something once.
You got lost along the way.
You may not hear the calling anymore. You are deaf to your dreams. But they are not deaf. They listen and know how much you want more than you have. The years go by and you mark the passage of time with scars on your arms.
You are not stupid, Dys.
You deserve the chance to succeed.
You don't want to live this way forever.
Don't be so hard on yourself. You've messed up but you're moved on.
YOU'RE WORTH IT. Please believe it.
~Dys
It sort of turned into a L'oreal commercial at the end, but the sentiment was nice.

I think you're worth more than any L'oreal product. :p
ReplyDeleteThis voice impresses me.
You know how i feel as we have had hours worth of dyscussion regarding this topic and many others.
ReplyDeleteyou are insanely too hard on yourself and we've agreed that it's something you need to work on before you can attempt to move on. you have so much talent and ability that you are having a hard time tapping into, due to a "wall" formed by a foundation of mental illness. you've worked so hard and i am more proud of you than you may ever know. i love you and know that you are capable of so much. it's going to be a tough road but you've identified so many issues that you have to work on and have been facing some of these issues that maybe you didn't address before.
As we've talked about. sometimes you are under appreciated by some of the people that should appreciate you the most. IMHO it's a bunch of bullshit. i'm not one of those people. you know where i stand. i know where they stand.
you deserve the world and the world deserves you.
I just found this blog. Justin you are so right about Dys. She deserves much and we (speaking for the world) need Dys. I've walked the dreary halls of disillusionment and fought off and killed the demons of depression. They always try for a comeback, and despite how good my life is now, they attack vigorously.
DeleteThanks, Jim.
